
North Dakota right tackle Seth Anderson became the final Missouri Valley Football Player to earn the title of MVFC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, earning the title of Offensive Lineman of the Week. He joins Tommy Schuster (Offensive Player of the Week) with a conference honor this week.In the 45-31 win at Murray State, Anderson’s blocking helped the Fighting Hawks accumulate 507 yards of offense with 279 yards through the air and 228 yards on the ground. Isaiah Smith rushed 21 times for 153 yards and a touchdown, giving Smith his fifth 100-yard rushing game of his career and his second this season. It was also Smith’s second consecutive 100-yard rushing performance this season.Anderson’s blocking also helped Schuster go 18-for-23 passing for 279 yards and five touchdowns. Schuster broke the all-time record for touchdowns thrown in a career at UND in the second quarter with his third touchdown pass of the afternoon, bringing his total up to 59 touchdowns thrown at the time. He shattered the record of Kelby Klosterman (1999-2002), who threw for 58 touchdowns in his career. By the end of the game on Saturday, Schuster’s career total was up to 61 touchdowns thrown. Schuster also became the first UND quarterback to have five touchdowns thrown in a game since Braden Hanson had five in the 40-34 win over Montana on Oct. 20, 2012.Anderson ended the week with 39 finishing points, highlighted by grading out at 96 percent on assignment and 84 percent overall.No. 10/12 North Dakota will visit No. 6 South Dakota on Saturday.
