Fargo Police say a device that was being analyzed in the downtown area this (Thu) afternoon is no longer a threat.
The Red River Valley Bomb Team has determined that the device is not an explosive.
Shortly after 1:00 this afternoon, Police asked the public to avoid the area of Main Avenue and Broadway for safety reasons.
They said officers were investigating a “potential improvised explosive device.” Anyone inside a building in that area was asked to shelter in place.
At about 1:45 PM, Police said the area has been re-opened to the public.
Authorities have given no other details.
