The North Dakota Highway Patrol is crediting a tip from the public in leading to the arrest of a 52 year old Wahpeton (ND) man involved in a hit-and-run injury crash involving a pedestrian.
Authorities say the accident occurred last night (Thursday) as two pedestrians were walking along the shoulder of a road in Wahpeton. The driver of a pickup struck a female causing her to be thrown in the ditch. The other pedestrian was able to give law enforcement a description of the vehicle. In addition several videos of the suspect vehicle were released to the public.
The NDHP says the driver was eventually identified and arrested. Chad Olson faces charges of leaving the scene of an injury accident…felony criminal vehicular injury…and DUI.
The 20-year old victim was flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
