North Dakota’s seventh annual Recovery Reinvented event was held (Thursday) in Minot. The goal of the conference is to eliminate the stigma of the disease of addiction. Governor Doug Burgum told some 950 attendees that it was a day of inspiration…learning…and gratitude. Burgum says addiction does not discriminate – impacting everyone and all 50 state. The governor says a call to action is needed because nationwide there were 112,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. last year alone. Burgum says since 2018 the number of North Dakotans who believe addiction is a disease has increased from 67% to 75%.
