The Minnesota Attorney General’s office has secured a guilty plea from a Kanabec County man who used a hatchet to murder his 93-year-old grandmother.
The state has accepted a “Norgaard plea” from 40-year-old Dustin Tinklenberg, who pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder in the 2022 death of Stella Anderson in Ogilvie (MN).
Under Minnesota law, a “Norgaard plea” may be entered if a defendant cannot remember committing a crime because of intoxication or amnesia.
Tinklenberg was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.
As part of his plea, the state will recommend a 26-year sentence.
Tinklenberg will be sentenced on November 13th.
