The next step in securing a new 47th Avenue Interchange will cost the city $1.75 million dollars. The city council this week gave final approval to an engineering agreement with the North Dakota DOT for design development. The $3.5 million dollar engineering component is being split with the state on a 50-50 cost share. I-29 was completed in 1968. Since the original construction no new interchanges have been built in Grand Forks.
