A crop dusting plane crashed this (Thu) morning, when it failed to take off safely from a private airstrip west of Jamestown.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the pilot, 29-year-old Michael Carrigee of Louisiana, was not injured, but potential charges are under investigation.
Troopers say Carrigee failed to gain sufficient speed to create enough lift for a safe takeoff.
The plane struck a barbed wire fence and traveled down a ravine, before coming to rest in a pasture.
The accident happened at about 9:00 AM.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
A damage estimate was not disclosed.
