ND lawmakers consider changes in funding formula

By Doug Barrett Jan 21, 2021 | 1:26 PM

A North Dakota lawmaker has introduced a bill to raise the state’s minimum wage. North Dakota’s minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.

Democratic Representative LaurieBeth Hager wants to raise it to $9 an hour August first…$10 by August of 2022…and $11 in August, 2023.

Hager says states like Minnesota and South Dakota have a higher minimum wage than North Dakota. “Families can’t live on the current minimum wage.”

The bill will be heard in the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee. A hearing has not yet been set.
