Body recovered from Turtle River

The body of a 31-year old man was recovered this morning (Thursday) from the Turtle River.

The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department says the victim was reported missing while visiting the Turtle River State Park around 10:00 p.m. last night (Wednesday).
Deputies located the victim’s vehicle and began a search of the park.  Members of the Grand Forks Regional Water Rescue Team recovered the body of the deceased male from the river shortly before 6:00 a.m. this morning. The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members. The incident remains under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office and Grand Forks Police Department were assisted by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department, North Dakota Highway Patrol, and the Northeast Regional Water Rescue Team.
