By Pat Sweeney Jun 21, 2023 | 12:43 PM

Authorities say a 27-year-old man died after he was trapped in a grain bin in western Minnesota.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office says it got a call around 9:30 AM Tuesday that two men were trapped in the bin near Porter (MN).

A 62-year-old man was able to escape, but rescue workers spent about an hour removing grain from the bin before the 27-year-old victim was removed. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

The 62-year-old man was transported to a hospital and later released.

A rescue worker was also taken to a hospital with heat-related injuries.

The names of the men have not yet been released.
