A busy section of interstate in the Twin Cities area was shut down for several hours today (Fri) because of some “road hogs.”
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the eastbound lanes of I-694 at northbound I-35E in Little Canada were closed, because a semi and trailer carrying livestock rolled onto its side this (Fri) morning, releasing several pigs onto the roadway.
The state Patrol says there were 50 pigs in the trailer when the crash occurred. Ten pigs were killed in the accident.
Troopers say the truck driver was not injured.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.

MnDOT says crews are trying to round up the pigs. Troopers say the truck driver was not injured.
