East Grand Forks appears to be on board with approving a peddle pub project.
The council directed City Attorney Ron Galstad to draft an ordinance allowing to 17 seat multi-passenger bike to roam the commercial district this summer. The pub itself would not serve alcohol but allow customers to bring their own beverages on board the ride. The ride would also make stops along the set route for patrons to visit restaurants and bars.
The Grand Forks council reviewed the proposal Monday with a draft ordinance in the works.

The pitch for a pedal pub for Grand Forks and East Grand Forks was to the Grand Forks city council last night. The 17 seat multi-passenger bicycle would travel on a downtown route between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. at a max speed of 6 mph. Supporters say it’s another tourism tool that would boost the downtown economy. Grand Forks City Attorney Dan Gaustad says a draft ordinance similar to the scooter law would need to be drafted. The pub itself would not serve alcohol – but customers could bring their own coolers along pub eyes GF & EGFfor the ride. The East Grand Forks council will review the plan tonight (Tuesday).
