A vehicle fire in north Grand Forks last night (Tuesday) kept fire crews busy as the flames began to spread to a nearby hotel.
The Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 1211 North 47th Street just after 5:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene the car was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire began to ignite the vinyl siding of the nearby Knights Inn but was quickly extinguished. The GFFD says damage to the building was limited to the exterior and the hotel and operations were allowed to continue.
The vehicle was deemed a total loss. There were no injuries. The cause of the vehicle fire was ruled accidental due to smoking materials.
