The Gate City Bank Home Improvement Partnership Loan Program is expanding into East Grand Forks.
Bank officials presented the city with a giant ceremonial check last night as they briefed the council on the merits of the low interest loan program that encourages residents to upgrade their homes.
Becky Mindeman with Gate City says the program has been around since 2005 throughout North Dakota and central Minnesota.
Economic Development Director Paul Gorte says loans up to $100,000 dollars are offered at interest rates as low as 3%.

In other council action members approved the reconstruction of a stretch of 4th Street NE at a cost of $590,637 dollars. Opp Construction submitted the low bid. The majority of the work will be special assessed.
