ND COVID & flu cases fall

By Doug Barrett Mar 20, 2023 | 8:40 AM

Good news on both the flu and COVID-19 front.

The Latest dashboard from the Grand Forks Health Department shows only 49 positive cases of COVID-19 were identified for the week ending March 16th. That keeps the CDC Community level for spread in the LOW category.

Flu numbers are also trending in the right direction. The North Dakota Health Department says they identified only 55 new cases statewide last week. The numbers have been slowly falling for 12 consecutive weeks. The 11.243 cases to date would make this the second highest for influenza activity – behind only the 12,502 confirmed during 2019-20 season. There have been 31 flu related deaths this year.
