The East Grand Forks School Board will begin the search for a new superintendent after accepting the resignation of Mike Kolness. Kolness will leave the district after seven years to lead the Kindred (ND) school system.
In his letter of resignation Kolness cited both personal and professional reasons for leaving – including being closer to children and grandchildren. In addition Kolness writes the transition across the river could provide some professional advantages.
Kolness also thanked the board adding “We have weathered some big storms together and I appreciate all of you!”
Kolness interviewed for the Kindred job on February 27th. He was offered the position March 6th.
His last day in EGF will be June 30th.
