East Grand Forks has started the process of finding a new city administrator.
The city council reviewed three proposals from search firms to assist in the recruitment process. The cost of hiring the companies ranges from $23,000 to just shy of $27,000 dollars.
Current City Administrator David Murphy is leaving for a similar role in St. Joseph (MN).
The council selected David Drone Associates to help come up with a list of candidates. Murphy says they were the low bid -and he is familiar with the agency. “A candidate could be selected by late June – with a start date of July or August.
Murphy says all three firms offer a guarantee of sorts. “If the candidate resigns or is terminated within two years they will redo the process at no cost to the city other than expenses.”
Murphy’s last day on the job is April 21st.
