A pile of crushed and bailed appliances caught fire in north Grand Forks last night (Wednesday).
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded to the call at 2550 27th Avenue North around 7:30 p.m. The fire at Residual Materials was quickly extinguished. Residual employees assisted the department with separating the pile to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby machinery. The fire has been determined to be unintentional. There were no reports of any injuries.
The GFFD responded with three engines and one command vehicle with eleven personnel. The Fire Department was assisted by the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance, and Residual Materials representatives.
