Mail only elections would be a thing of the past under a bill approved by the North Dakota House. The legislation would require every county in the state to have at least one in-person voting site.
In response to President Donald Trump’s national emergency COVID-19 declaration in March 2020 Governor Doug Burgum issued an executive order suspending certain election laws in favor of voting absentee…via mail…or drop box.
Representative Claire Cory carried the bill to the House floor. “This is an important election integrity bill for constituents that like to vote in-person.”
House Bill 1167 was approved on a 93-zero vote.
