Winter storm impacts regional travel

UPDATE 3:45 PM:

The North Dakota DOT and State Patrol have re-opened I-94 between Fargo and Jamestown. I-29 and State Highway 13 are also open again.

The southeastern corner of North Dakota is under a No Travel Advisory.

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for the Wahpeton-Breckenridge area until 6:00 this evening…

Many southern counties from the South Dakota border… up through Steele, Traill, Griggs, Norman and Mahnomen Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory till 6:00 tonight…followed by a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 AM Friday.

For northern sections – including Grand Forks – a Wind Chill Advisory is posted until 9:00 AM Friday.

Weather has contributed to more than 2,000 U.S. flight cancellations, according to the tracking service FlightAware. At least 400 of those were due to arrive or depart from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, which reported 13.1 inches of snow as of noon.

Flights between Grand Forks and MSP this morning and early afternoon were either delayed or cancelled.

Other snow totals in southern Minnesota: 20 inches in Apple Valley… 18 in North Mankato… 17.5 in Prior Lake… 17 in Savage… 16 in Chanhassen and Faribault.
