A North Dakota Senator wants to create two new state holidays.
One would be Native American Day, the day after Thanksgiving.
Democrat Ryan Braunberger was newly elected from District 10. Braunberger says he worked for a corporation that gave its employees the day after Thanksgiving off. Braunberger says it is a way to honor the first people who were here.
The other day would be “Juneteenth,” or June 19th, celebrated as the day slavery ended in the United States.
