East Grand Forks school officials are keeping a close eye on enrollment. Superintendent Mike Kolness updated the numbers during this week’s school board meeting. Kolness says a total of 1,817 students are currently attended classes in District 595 – the lowest number since the 2014-15 school year. Unless the numbers change it could end up having an impact on the 2023 budget. Kolness says the district crafted a conservative spending plan but it may have to be revised – resulting in staff adjustments to reflect declining enrollment.
