A piece of art held in storage since 2017 may have a new home. The Grand Forks council has agreed to transfer ownership of The Arbor to the Public Arts Commission for installation in University Park.
The 12 foot bronze looking tree was removed from the downtown Arbor Park when it was redeveloped five years ago.
Council member Rebecca Osowski says she has no problems donating the art piece but did express some concerns over its location and safety to children playing at the nearby playground.
A related art piece known as The Table will not be a part of the move for safety reasons. The decision to transfer ownership was approved on a unanimous vote.
