ND audit examines AG building lease

By Doug Barrett Sep 28, 2022 | 8:46 AM

A new audit raises more questions into the North Dakota attorney general’s office lease of a building that resulted in cost overruns to the tune of over $1.8 million dollars.

The report released by state Auditor Josh Gallion found Republican Representative Jason Dockter is a co-owner of the building in Bismarck.

The analysis also found that there is less space for the Attorney General in the building compared to the prior space they occupied.
The A-G’s office is also paying more per month than their previous leases.

Extensive remodeling was done by a company that is also co-owned by Dockter – and much of the work was completed by subcontractors.
The lease was entered into by the attorney general’s office under the late Wayne Stenehjem.
