A Grand Forks man has been charged in Polk County with attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Thirty-seven-year-year-old Jason Noyes was arrested after an incident Saturday morning at the River Cinema in East Grand Forks.
According to East Grand Forks Police… around 10:45 AM, a woman left a stall in a ladies’ rest room when she encountered a man whose pants were down. He said he had a knife and grabbed her wrist.
The woman told police the man tried to force his way into her bathroom stall. She fought him off and ran away, calling for help.
The suspect left the rest room and dropped a backpack as he fled. Citizens told police they saw the man on a bike heading toward Blue Moose Bar and Grill.
Noyes was identified by two people who were shown a photographic lineup. A Grand Forks task force officer also identified him after seeing security video.
Police apprehended Noyes at his home on Sunday. He is in custody in Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
The charge is a felony punishable by not less than six years, or more than 15 years in prison… a $20,000 fine… or both.
