Electric scooters will soon be roaming the streets of Grand Forks. After previously adopting an ordinance to allow the scooters the city council last night (Monday) approved a permit for Bird Rides Inc. to operate in town. The plan calls for an initial fleet of 200 scooters with a max cap of 400. The rides will not be allowed on sidewalks in the downtown and will have a top speed of 15 mph.

The council voted unanimously in favor of Weigel serving in the temporary leadership role.
