The State Canvassing Board met this (Thu) afternoon to certify North Dakota’s Primary Election results.

Certified results are available by going online to Vote.ND.gov and clicking the “election results” banner on the left side column.

A total of 106,168 ballots were cast in North Dakota for a voter turnout rate of 18.79%.

During the meeting, a “demand recount” option was identified for the House Contest in Legislative District 3 in Ward County.  For the recount to be initiated, the request must be received by the Secretary of State no later than July 5.

Incumbent Jeff Hoverson leads former GOP Representative Roscoe Streyle by eight votes. The margin was just one vote after election night counting. The County Canvassing Board increased the margin this week. Lori VanWinkle was the top vote getter in that district.
