Victim of fatal motorcycle crash was Carrington police chief

The Chief of Police in Carrington was killed in a motorcycle accident in West Fargo on Tuesday.  The North Dakota Patrol has identified the victim as 36-year old Brandon Sola of Velva (ND).

Authorities say Sola was traveling west on I-94 when he lost control and was tossed from the bike.  The motorcycle came to rest on the median shoulder.

Sola was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a helmet.

In addition to his police duties Sola was a Master Sgt. with the ND Air National Guard in Fargo.

Adjutant General Al Dohman issued a statement saying the entire North Dakota Guard mourns the loss of one our family members.

Carrington Mayor Tom Erdman calls Sola an enthusiastic and welcome leader of the community.
