The Becker County Sheriff’s Department has identified a 20-year old Fergus Falls (MN) man who drowned on Big Detroit Lake on Wednesday.
Authorities say Jette Frandson reportedly jumped from a pontoon without a life preserver. The wind began to push the watercraft away from the victim who began to struggle.
Sheriff Todd Glander says three friends who were on the pontoon jumped in the water at separate times to rescue Frandson without success. His body was recovered in about 29 feet of water several hours later.
The incident remains under investigation.
