The Wadena (MN) Fire Department is battling a large fire at Minnesota Valley Irrigation. All residents have been advised to shelter in place. The Wadena Police Department issued a statement advising residents to close windows and shut off air conditioning units. Large clouds of smoke could be seen from the source of the fire. Authorities say the smoke does not contain hazardous materials. The WDC High School gym been opened for anyone who needs to take shelter.
The fire comes as the community is also under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
