Average US gasoline price jumps 33 cents

By Doug Barrett May 23, 2022 | 7:06 AM

The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline spiked 33 cents over the past two weeks to $4.71 per gallon.  Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says the price jump comes amid higher crude oil costs and tight gasoline supplies. The average price at the pump is $1.61 higher than it was one year ago.

According to the latest Triple-A Fuel Survey the going rate in North Dakota is $4.18 cents a gallon.  That compares to $2.84 cents one year ago.  The all-time record high average was $4.24 in 2013.

Minnesota is sitting at $4.14.
