Berms and alleys are about to look a bit cluttered this week as a lot of homeowners in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks spent the weekend cleaning out garages and attics. After a couple of delays today (Monday) marks the start of Spring Clean-Up Week.
Residents are encouraged to place extra items where you normally place your garbage and city crews will haul the trash away for free.
The Grand Forks Landfill will also have extended hours this week (7am-7pm) and Saturday (8am-4 pm).
In recent years crews have hauled away as much as 538 tons of junk and branches. Residents also directly deposited 72 tons into the landfill.
