A man accused of shooting a Pelican Rapids woman has taken a plea deal.
Phoutthasa Prathane was charged with second-degree attempted murder, three counts of first-degree burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The plea deal will drop three of the charges, while attempted murder and one of the burglary charges will stay.
Prathane was arrested on April 12 in Redwood County after being on the run for several days.
Authorities say Prathane shot a woman in Pelican Rapids on the afternoon of April 10th … then fled the scene.
A witness told police that Prathane was punching and kicking the victim then shot the victim in each leg and her lower abdomen.
After being interviewed by investigators, Prathane admitted to shooting the victim, as well as admitted to fleeing to Iowa – he claims he was on his way back to Pelican Rapids to – as he put it — ‘take out’ the victim’s father when he was arrested.
