A Flood Watch or Warning remains in effect for the entire northern end of the Red River Valley. Rainfall the past two days continues to keep rivers and streams high and overland flooding a threat.
After dropping nearly two feet in the past few days the Red River in Grand Forks / East Grand Forks is heading back up again. The River slipped briefly below 44 feet on Saturday but is forecast to climb to 46.5 feet by Tuesday. Flood stage is 28.
Rain that fell yesterday has brought a half inch to 2 inches of additional moisture to already saturated conditions. As of 7:00 a.m. Sunday the NWS office in Grand Forks measured 1.56 inches of rain. A gradual warming trend during the week.
