The East Grand Forks council is inching closer to approving an asphalt plant project on the edge of town. R.J. Zavoral & Sons is eyeing a site near County Road 17 and west of Highway 2.
The council is considering placing conditions on the plant to help ease property owner concerns over odor… environmental issues…and traffic.
After discussing the project at length last night (Tuesday) members delayed a vote until next week. Council President Mark Olstad says it’s time to vote the issue up or down.
The special use permit could include such conditions as times of operation…paving the road to prevent dust…and length of permit.
