By Doug Barrett Apr 26, 2022 | 8:43 AM

Another sign that the spring and summer season can’t be too far off….road construction.

The Grand Forks council last night gave preliminary approval to the reconstruction of seven blocks of Oak Street at a cost of over $1.6 million dollars. The work includes removing the asphalt road in favor of concrete from 17th Avenue South to 24th.

Strata Corporation’s bid came in 13% under engineer estimates for the project. Around 20% of the cost will be special assessed to benefiting properties.
