The Grand Forks School District could release a Request for Qualifications as soon as next week for architectural and engineering services to help develop a new Valley Middle School campus. The project would include a Child Nutrition addition at the Mark Sanford Education Center.
Earlier this week the school board opted not to place a $55 million dollar bond issue on the June ballot to fund the project noting that more time is needed for planning before making the “ask” of taxpayers.
In a staff memo Superintendent Terry Brenner says a late September referendum is possible. Several board members have also suggested a November date to avoid additional election costs.
The board will review the timeline and R-F-Q on Monday night.
