GF/EGF MPO reviews bridges and bikes

By Doug Barrett Mar 17, 2022 | 9:24 AM

The need for a fourth bridge linking Grand Forks and East Grand Forks was back on the agenda of the Metropolitan Planning Organization on Wednesday.   M-P-O members invited representatives from the North Dakota and Minnesota DOT’s to the meeting to talk about funding options.  No decisions were made.  Elks and 32nd have been mentioned as possible location sites.  A recent study of the two corridors was completed by an ad hoc bridge committee.

In other action the MPO Board has agreed to hire consultants Bolton and Menk to update the five year Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.  A total of three firms applied for the job.  The cost of the study is $119,810 dollars.  The final draft should be ready in early 2023.
