A woman is hospitalized following an exchange of gunfire involving a deputy with the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities say it started around 1:30 Sunday morning when the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle refused to pull over until hitting the ditch in Naytahwausch (MN).
After the vehicle was stopped shots were fired and the adult female was injured. She was transported to a Fargo hospital. A condition report was not available.
The deputy involved was not injured. The department says a gun was recovered at the scene.
The Minnesota B-C-A is assisting with the investigation.
