Grand Forks Police say if you get a call from someone claiming to be from the department and requesting a donation – it’s a scam. The GFPD says they have received several complaints recently regarding a caller seeking money. Similar to other scams the person often asks you to buy gift cards and send them the codes. Authorities say they are looking into the matter – but acknowledged that most scams are based overseas and are hard to track.
