MN authorities investigating sled crashes

A 64-year old Alexandria man was seriously injured Sunday when he crashed his snowmobile in Douglas County (MN).  Authorities say Harlan Oberg attempted to drive over a snowbank and lost control.  He was ejected from the sled.  Another rider who witnessed the crash called 9-1-1.  Oberg was transported to a hospital in Alexandria.  A condition update was not available.

Authorities say a Thief River Falls man died after crash involving a snowmobile and an ambulance in St. Louis County, in northern Minnesota. It happened Saturday afternoon as St. Louis County sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash on Ash River Trail, about a half-mile east of Hwy. 53. An ambulance from the Kabetogama Fire Department was en route to a medical call and traveling east on Ash River Trail when it struck a snowmobile on the road. 61-year old Jeffrey Blom was declared dead at the scene.
