GFPD investigates discovery of man’s body downtown

Police say a deceased male was found this (Thu) afternoon in downtown Grand Forks.

Police say the man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was found at about 12:15 PM in the alley of the “10” block of North 3^rd Street.

Authorities say they do not know if the body is that of 26-year-old Anthony Valdez, who has been missing since Sunday.

Valdez was last seen by a downtown bar in the area where the body was found.

The Grand Forks coroner has been called to the scene…and the investigation is active.

No other details have been released.

On February 10, 2022 at approximately 12:15 pm a body of a yet to be identified subject was discovered deceased in the alley of 10 block N. 3^rd St. This incident is under active investigation and will be updated when further information is available.
