EGF annexation moves forward

By Doug Barrett Jan 19, 2022 | 8:54 AM

Despite concerns raised by a few members of the public the East Grand Forks council moved forward last night (Tuesday) with a plan to annex 22 acres of land near Highway 2 and County 17.

R-J Zavoral and Sons is looking to establish an asphalt plant on site.

In addition to a plat and site plan a special use permit would be needed for the project to move forward.  City leaders says that could include conditions – including hours of operation and the need for an MPCA permit.

The council gave first reading to the annexation on a 5-1 vote.
