Original story:

Northbound lanes of I-29 are temporarily closed due to a traffic incident south of Reynolds (ND).

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 49-year old driver of a truck noticed smoke coming from the trailer he was pulling shortly after 8:30 this morning.  The trailer was on fire.  The H-P says the load was a hazardous corrosive liquid that was being hauled north to Canada.

The driver and a 32-year old co-driver were unharmed.  In addition to the Traill County Sheriff’s Department; NDHP; Reynolds Fire and Rescue; Buxton Fire Department; Grand Forks Fire Department; and NDDOT are on scene.

Traffic is being routed to detour at Exit 118 near Buxton and to proceed to County Road 81 north to Reynolds before getting back onto I-29. The detour will remain in place until the fire is completely out and the area is cleaned up.
