A McKenzie County Sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle accident involving a Grand Forks driver.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened around 6:15 this (Tue) morning about three miles east of Watford City.
Deputy Ray Beebe was driving a sheriff’s SUV in the right lane of Highway 23… when he tried to make a U-turn, but failed to see two vehicles in the passing lane: a pickup driven by 40-year-old Troy O’Donnell of Grand Forks, and an unknown vehicle.
As the other vehicles tried to avoid Beebe, O’Donnell’s pickup collided with Beebe’s SUV, sending the SUV into a ditch.
Beebe was transported to a Watford City hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic on Highway 23 was shut down for two hours to clear the damaged vehicles.
