A proposed replat and zoning of the former West School site advanced at last night’s Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
Developers hope to transform the shuttered school property on the city’s north side into eleven single family homes. The project has received generally favorable reviews for its effort to blend into the surrounding neighborhood.
There was some discussion about affordability and whether the homes could become rental property – but the commission ultimately decided that was outside the scope of the request before them.
The project will face further scrutiny during a public hearing with the City Council on January 18th.
