Crookston is getting a new police chief. The city council named Darin Selzler to the post being vacated by Paul Biermaier.
Following the selection Biermaier told the council that the city will be in good hands. “I started running ambulance in 1982,,,so I’ve been doing this red lights and siren thing for about 40 years.”
Biermaier has been with the city of Crookston for 32 years. He’ll step down February 28th.
Selzler says he is excited for the opportunity and expects a seamless transition. “I am very passionate about law enforcement. I love the city of Crookston…and I look forward to the many years of working with city staff…council…and residents of Crookston.”
The council approved the appointment on a unanimous vote. Selzler will assume his new duties on March 1st.
