The North Dakota Mill and Elevator reports its first quarter profits at $3,335,889.
Mill manager Vance Taylor says that’s up 2.2 percent from the previous year where profits were $3,282,775.
Taylor says it was a strong start to the fiscal year for the Grand Forks based mill.
He says spring wheat products accounted for over 92% of all sales with durum falling just shy of 8%.
Looking ahead Taylor says the second quarter is showing some promise as well. “We are seeing strong customer demand and this years spring and durum crops even with the drought have very good quality and work well with our customers.”
Taylor presented the numbers to the North Dakota Industrial Commission on Monday.
