The Boardwalk Bar and Grill has settled a legal dispute with the Minnesota Attorney General’s office for violating an executive closure order last year due to COVID-19.
The A-G’s office filed the action against the East Grand Forks eatery for opening on several days back in December 2020 in violation of Executive Order 2099.
Under terms of the settlement Boardwalk will pay $25,000 spread over 12 monthly payments.
Boardwalk also entered into separate settlements with the Minnesota Departments of Public Safety and Health – including a 30 day liquor license suspension.
In a prepared statement Attorney General Keith Ellison says he is pleased that the business finally chose to take responsibility for their actions.
The settlement was filed with the court in October.
