By Doug Barrett Nov 19, 2021 | 12:24 PM

Supporters of a Career Impact Academy in Grand Forks say they are getting close to reaching a goal of raising $10 million dollars towards the project.

The CIA steering committee today (Friday) announced a $1 million dollar gift from Sanford Health.  The financial commitment highlights a week of fundraising that secured $2.2 million dollars.  That pushes the tally to date to $9.6 million.

Once operational the CIA will offer career programming to both high school and adult learners.

EDC President Keith Lund says the industry support shows how much regional businesses care about the workforce development project.

The deadline to apply for the state funding is December 1st.
